Concept: A Living Terrain
The Tectonic Ridge is a cultural institution integrated into a mountain landscape. By synthesizing bold cantilevered forms with the natural slope, the project creates a "living terrain" where art and community converge.
Design & Narrative
Organized around a monumental central staircase, the complex cascades down the ridge in a series of glazed pavilions. This vertical spine connects museum galleries, art studios, and entertainment spaces, culminating in a dramatic cantilevered volume that anchors the site and offers panoramic valley views.
Technical Execution
Structure: A hybrid system featuring a reinforced concrete frame for terraced levels and a steel truss system for the primary cantilever, supported by V-shaped columns anchored into bedrock.
Sustainability: A passive-first approach achieves a 42% energy reduction through high thermal mass, earth-sheltering, and intensive green roofs.
Renewables: Integrated 120 kWp photovoltaic array and greywater recycling for net-zero irrigation.
